Finale
Houseguests: David Lane, Erika Landin
The Final 2 were done and the power shifted to the jurors. James, Keesha, Will, Neil, Ashlea, Matt and Lisa now got to choose who they wanted to win. David and Erika made their opening statements.
Erika: Welcome back guys! It's been a long road getting to this point. It's been a very interesting game; when I signed up, I didn't expect to make it to this point at all.
However, something happened early on in the game that gave me a goal. David and I made an alliance. Davika FTW! We've been tight knit from that point on, discussing every single thing that was going on in the game.
We made a "Final 4" deal with Matt and Ashlea, but we had to turn on them in the final 5. Once I won the Final Power of Veto, the reality of David and I making it here seemed more in reach than ever.
I've been through a lot of personal real life drama but I've stuck to this game. At this point, me and David become opponents, and I think we're both worthy of a win.
I look forward to answering any questions you have for me and I will answer them 100% honestly. Thank you
David: Hey everyone! Like Erika I had no idea what to suspect in the game. My strategy became keeping the target off of my back while trying to be in control of the decision making in the process. I tried to be as social in the game as possible in the begining, and even though it did have actual value of simply trying to get to know more about people, it served strategically as well. It did serve to help me win 2 socially driven HOH's and keep me off the block. As winner of... I believe 4 HOH's I feel it's an accomplishment not to be nominated even once in this game.
I feel that I have played the best social/strategic and competitively balanced game that I could, and I hope I can prove that to you with the questions you ask me
Next some of the jurors asked the Final 2 questions.
Lisa: Can you both rank the jurors on a scale of 1 - 7 on who deserves to be in your 2 spots and please say why if possible... thanks.
Good luck, xoxo,
Lisa!
--------------------------------
David: 1. Matt - I feel he knew the right moment to start an alliance. He also was someone that helped me through being able to evict people like Keesha the week I was HOH, telling me I needed to put strategy over friendship. I knew I had to/could/would but it was good to have someone with the same mindset help me through it.
2. Lisa - in some ways I guess I am confused myself as to why I put you here. I usually place strategical games higher than challenge win games, however, it was fact that you weren't going anywhere for a while. You definitely competed to win. As far as strategy, I know you talked to a few people in the game, but I don't know how that affected your game, I do know you were a tough one to beat!
3. Keesha - You definitely played a good social game, and I liked that you still PM'd me after your nomination and didn't hold a grudge from it. I would say if you knew when to align(maybe you were and I didn't know it) I think you would have gone much farther, you were a major threat!
4. Ashlea - I'd say everytime I spoke with someone, they told me they spoke with you too. At times I thought you had deals with Keesha and Lisa, so I did have my eye on you as a competitor.
5. Will - He was in it to win it in the begining, he did the most work in the plate challenge, and many players identified him as a big threat and power player in the game when ever I was HOH. Someone that harnesses that much of a target has to be given credit.
6. Neil - I talked with him a lot in the begining and towards the end and he seemed to be around in the game a lot, I'm just not sure who else he was aligned with unless with Will.
7. James - He and I didn't talk much, and it seemed to be the case with others too since he left 4-2 I believe over Will.
Erika: 1. Matt- Dude had game; that's why I voted him out. I know he wouldn't have taken me to the final 2, and he was just too much of a competition risk.
2. Keesha- Amazing Social Game...how else would she be a top runner for favorite Juror AND All Star worthy
3. Lisa- You played an interesting game...I don't think anyone knew what you were up to...very Danielle Reyes
4. Ashlea- Had a strong ally in Matty, she kind of played the UTR game I did
5. Neil- As much as I <3 him, didn't really getta talk to him much, had things been different, and I got to see more game, he'd be higher
6. Will- David says he did a lot, but I never really seen it. I was like "Dr. will who?"
7. James- Played a good game while he was here, but wasn't here long enough for us to see what he could do...
Neil
ok you bitches LOL jk
did you vote me out? if so why? and why should you win?
--------------------------------
Erika: Hey Neil
Honestly, I have never voted to evict you this entire game
The week you guys (Matt Ashlea and Yourself) were nominated, David and I had a plan to try to get Matt and Ashlea evicted, but Lisa voted for you, which tied the vote...the tiebreaker is what sent you home
I think I played a good game...and UTR game...but a good one. Like I told Keesha, it doesn't take competitions to get to the Final 2
I hope you'll see that I played a good game and give me your vote. Thanks Neil
David: I did not vote you out. My vote was for Ashlea that week to ensure that Matty stayed though. I think the week I nominated you, I told you why and that you were not either my first or second target.
I think I deserve to win, because I think I played the best social and competitive game that I could. Unlike Erika I did step out of the radar and still I was never nominated. I was HOH 4 times, and two of them were socially driven/networking challenges(plate and frienemies) winning both of them put a huge target on my back and still I survived even when nominating so many people. I feel I made the right nomination moves to still keep enough people on my side even after nominating them to keep a stable spot in the game so I didn't go up, and still play the game with control without letting it fall into another player's hands. At the final 6 I definitely calculated the the votes well to ensure that my top 2 allies and I were safe pre veto. All in all, I hope my game looks like a winning one to you all, and I would love to have your vote
Matt: First off I would just like to congratulate you both on getting all the way to the final two! Now for my questions:
David: Congrats again man! I really don't have a particular question for you, considering who you are sitting next to, so tell me who was your best ally and why?
Erika: Well, well, if it isn't little Miss Let's Ride David's Coat Tail Til The End. First of, I would just like to know why you evicted me? Obviously you saw me as a threat, but you even agreed to letting me into the final three. So by evicting me, you lost a jury vote. Also, tell me three reasons why you were a better player than David.
--------------------------------
Erika: Matt, Have we really resorted to name calling? First of all, I'd like to point out I never told you I'd keep you over Lisa when I won the veto. So you can't hold that against me. Though, if you want to know the reason, I felt that you were closer to David and had you won the Final HoH, you would have taken him over me, and you were better at competitions than Lisa. That's why you had to go.
You can say I rode coat tails, and it's probably true...I mean...I only won one competition all season...but looky there, I'm still in the Final 2...I don't claim to be a better player than David. I think we both played great games, as it got us here, but if I had to say I did something better than David, I would say I kept the target off my back...Yes, I was nominated twice, but in all reality...I was a pawn...who was ever gonna get rid of that lawn chair Erika who never won a competition?
If you want to vote for David over me, then fine...but vote for him because you think he played a better game...not because you are bitter towards me
David: Hey Matt! I would say calculating my best ally is quite hard because each player did bring something to my game, whether it be being a pawn, being instrumental in me winning a POV ect...
I'd say the 3 most loyal were you, Ashlea and Erika because we had an alliance that was solid. I'd say you had Ashlea more probably since you brought her in, so between you and Erika, you were both loyal and both wanted to take me final 2 as you told me. I'd say my best ally in terms of strategy was you because we were able to establish a concrete alliance(one I never thought would be formed in this game, and shocked it didn't happed day 1) My reason for protecting Erika more was because I believed she was more beatable. However, I believe you were more part of the success of the game as a whole for me. Until final 6 she basically agreed with what I said.
Ashlea: Ok Congrats guys for making the Final 2!
Erika- We didn't really talk much but I always saw you as like a sidekick. David just stuck out to me more then you did. You did win competitions which I like! But it seems like you just rode on David's coattails. So my question is What do you think you did better at in this game then David?
David- You are a great guy and you were my favorite person to talk too! You definitely seemed like the power player this whole entire game! I know you made a lot of relationships in this game so can you please tell me one good trait and one bad trait about each Juror!
Thanks Guys! And Congrats Again!!!
--------------------------------
Erika: Thanks for the question Ashlea...to answer your question, I ask you to look back at the statement you made
"David just stuck out to me more than you did"
That was my game...I just sat in the background and let the cards fall as they would. No one really thought about little ole Erika sitting in a corner, minding her own business...that player that could never win a competition...no one saw me as a threat
That was my plan coming into this game, and even if I lose, I played a great game because it got me to the final two, and as the proverb says 'The End Justifies the Means'
David: Hey Ashlea! Thank you Ok, I think for the most part I did get atleast 1 PM with each player. Some definitely a lot more. Where my good/bad traits for most won't be like - "I find this person quite annoying" I think I'll take my stance on strategy. Given it's online I can't pick up on many bad traits. Should it be Real life, I'd prob find a lot living in a house with stressful cameras! lol
James - He was probably the hardest one to try and bring up conversation with. I'd say that's the bad. However the good, he did talk a lot in that 2nd live HOH competition. Just wish more board talk could have been taken advatage of in the game as a whole group.
Keesha - She's one of the first few that I spoke to, I made the desicion to speak to people on the red team because from the looks of it they were the ones that nominated us each week if our teams lost. However, she's a sweet person. I'd say for the most part I started catching on to how socially strong she was. Had she made an alliance commitment to me week 2 whenwe were discussing nominations the game could have gone a lot differently. So I guess waiting to strike deals with me was the bad trait?
Will - I definitely enjoyed talking to him because he's a college freshman. I was supposed to be a junior mentor for college freshmen this year in college so the things we talked about(mostly school related some points) I enjoyed hearing about. Plus we did strike up a deal that first week. I think his bad quality was that he seemed to have fizzled out near the end of his time in the game, maybe due to lack of the speed of the game though.
Neil - Another guy I talked to the first week, also fun to talk with. I'd say in the begining I'd pin his bad trait as he always had to ask me who I was and in what game I was in. Overall I'd say he was a pretty honest, straightforward guy.
Ashlea - You were definitely nice and loyal. And you were also up for the alliance of the four. I also saw you as a social player because it seemed a lot of people mentioned they spoke to you. I'd say the bad trait is some point I think we did lose touch so when I heard two were leaving you became my buffer ally incase of an veto win.
Matty - Great guy, he was definitely forward and honest with me, and seemed to trust me close to the start of our communications, I was hoping Erika would take him final 3. I'd say if I were to point out a bad trait, he told me once close to the final 10 mark that he had only spoken with Will, Lisa and Chicken George at the time. I was shocked that he didn't try speaking with as many as he could.
Lisa - Ok, I think for the most part later in the game I had this strategy of, I'd target you and vote you out or get evicted/die trying lol you were a tough veto competitor, I remember in the begining Keesha nominated you because y'all didn't talk yet. That could have been your bad trait. However, communication with me was also partly my fault because I knew I had to have someone to target in the game lol I hope that's what you wanted Let me know
Keesha: Hey guys! You obviously played an awesome game if you made it to the final 2. Congrats!
David: You were an amazing social player! Wow. We had some good conversations, I would say, so how come you backdoored me?
Erika: Congrats on making final 2. What did you do right to get yourself to the final 2?
And those are my questions. Good luck to the both of you!
--------------------------------
Erika: Hey Keesha...thanks for the congrats
My best move was making my alliance with David for sure. I gave him my word, and when I give my true word, I don't betray. In a game where you're supposed to always be lying, I was 100% honest with my one true ally, and it got me where I needed to be.
Also, winning the final 4 veto all but secured it for me. It was the only competition I had to win all season. Winning competitions is not necessary to get to the end. I mean, did any of you honestly see me as a threat? Yet, here I am in the final two. I must have done something right
I hope this answers your question Keesha.
David: Hey Keesha! Ok, by that time final 8, I had been approached by Matty for a 2 guy 2 girl alliance. I think he was thinking you, or Ashlea, and I brought in Erika. When I won that HOH, I honestly didn't know if it was best for me strategically to win it, I think I was laughing at both the Frienemies game and the Plate Smash game because I thought "there's no way I'm not gonna look like a threat anymore LMAO" However I did win it, and for the most part I knew could nominate Lisa, and I decided to put up Neil because I felt he wouldn't have gone after me as hard had he stayed. My alliance was gunning for Will mostly but also you. So I didn't want to put both of you up because I felt neither of you would go after me unless I gave you reason. The thought came up that at some point I would have to pick should either Lisa or Neil win that veto. So I told my alliance about the possibility of back dooring you. I basically had to chose between you and Will at that point because I couldn't put up my alliance and make logic sense of it, and I couldn't risk becoming a target myself in the game, so I basically decided to make it a backdoor whoever I chose.
My reasons for picking you over Will was that I knew Matty was after Will, Erika mentioned Will as a threat, Ashlea nominated Will the past week, so I knew/assumed I could still have him as a player that wouldn't put me up. However, the biggest factor was that Erika sent me a PM where you asked her who she was working with. I assume it was because she picked me in the frienemies comp to eliminate a player. I figured/assumed you were onto me. So I told Neil that had I won the veto I would save him and I let him in on the plan. It was a pretty strategically packed week for me since I had to keep my allies in the game, and also eliminate a player and try to keep as many people trusting me the next week as I could. I think I pulled it off. Hopefully that answers it
James: Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?
--------------------------------
David: Hey James! I believe my fellow South Carolinian said it best!
She makes us so proud
To add to this I definitely feel there has been a decline in our education system in America atleast. I have friends that go to other countries either for travel or volunteer work, and in some of the countries the idea of being able to go to school would be such a blessing in there eyes. Yet when I was in high school I remember seeing some kids just want to play on there cell phones and the thought of a... *gasp* 1 page paper makes them wonder why there teacher hated them. I feel for some students they lost the drive to learn. Some just begin to take things for granted, I know I do a lot even, I am actually three days late on a psych paper which I should just summarize the book chapter.
Another theory I would have would be our reliance on technology. We can Google search what ever we want and it's assessable to us whenever we want it, so perhaps the ones tested to get that statistic generally rely on having ways to find the info instead of memorizing it beforehand. There's a quote I remember hearing in 9th grade about "I'd rather teach someone about where to find something than to make them memorize it." Something to that effect, I just tried searching for it on Google and can't LMAO *fail* It's a mix of those two things.
Erika: Hey James, I blame pineapples...but that's just me...
After the questioning, the jurors voted and then it was time to reveal the winner.
Julie: By a vote of 7-0 David wins! Congratulations.
Houseguests: David Lane, Erika Landin
The Final 2 were done and the power shifted to the jurors. James, Keesha, Will, Neil, Ashlea, Matt and Lisa now got to choose who they wanted to win. David and Erika made their opening statements.

I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future, for our children.
